We offer and strongly recommend that all our patients have regular six monthly examinations with our Coventry dental hygienist with a view to preventing problems before they arise. In cases where treatment is needed we are able to provide treatment before the problem becomes more serious. We treat prevention very seriously. Our goal is that our patients enjoy regular check-ups, minimal treatment and avoid gum disease (gingivitis).

We all have different life-styles, different eating habits and different teeth and mouths. Our professional and experienced Coventry hygienists will work with you and advise you on the best way to brush and floss your teeth. They will also advise you on whether your current diet is having any detrimental affects on your teeth. And, of course, they will clean and polish your teeth to leave your mouth feeling clean and refreshed.


Why healthy gums are so important!

Gum disease can increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and low birth weight babies. There are 2 types of gum disease, gingivitis and periodontal disease. Generally gum disease is pain free initially and this is why it is so important to maintain regular dental hygienist appointments. Spotting gum disease early is very important as if left untreated, teeth may become loose and may need to be extracted.

How can I prevent the onset of gum disease?

With a good personal oral hygiene routine which includes a visit to our hygienist at least two times a year we can help you prevent the onset of gum disease.
